Guest prep 101

With Christmas just a few short days away, your out of town guests will start rolling in any minute! Which means its time you start to get your house “Guest ready”! You see, I take playing hostess very seriously, and I love to make my guests feel completely comfortable, and this is all in the prep work before the guests arrive!!

Here are a Just Blues favourite tips on making your guests feel completely at home!

Prepare the guest room.

This means fresh linens, clean towels, extra blankets and pillows, plenty wardrobe and draw space and Beautiful blooms on the bedside table.

A guest room tray

When you leave a guest tray this just shows you have thought ahead and planned for your guests arrival. I like to a candle and matches, magazines or something to read, water bottles a midnight snack and anything your guests might need.

Bathroom essentials!

One of the most forgotten thing when travelling is toiletries, so just leave a few things in the bathroom in case your guests have forgotten something. I like to leave toothbrushes and toothpaste, Panadol, shampoo and conditioner, and extra toilet paper.

Stock the fridge.

First give it a little clean out, there is nothing worse than having rotten fruit and vegetables or spilt drink in the shelves! So once its all clean, stock it with things tailored for your guests. Check with them ahead of time if they are allergic to anything so you can buy a few that your guests will love and appreciate!

Log out of your computer!

This is a silly one, but things can get pretty crazy around Christmas times, so in order to avoid a crazy Facebook post make sure you have signed out of all your email and social media accounts!

Dig in the couch!!

I mean who knows what ends up in between the cushions  so just have a quick check to remove any of the socks or tissues that may have gotten lost in there!!

And last but not least!!

Ready the cocktails!

After long hours of travelling your guests will be exhausted, so there is no better way of welcoming them into your home then offering a relaxing drink on arrival.

Merry Christmas, and enjoy your time with your friends and family!
