There is so much that needs to be organised, packed and cleaned and you are sure to forget something along the way. Checklists

The more you write down, the less likely you are to forget something. You can down load heaps of different moving check lists that will help you remember everything. You should reference these lists before, during and after the move to make sure you don’t forget something important.

Utilities

Make sure that you schedule and keep track of all your utilities both at your old and new home. Schedule these appointments well in advance so you can have everything up and running when you move in, and you aren’t with out water, power and internet.

Loan Documents

If you have purchased a new home, you may need to access you finance documents at any time, so keep them together in a binder, so you always have easy access to these. Once you are settled in keep these in a safe but accessible location.

Mover Information

It is important that you have the contact information for your moving company on hand, because you never know when you will need it. Also, make sure that you have the contract in a binder, as well as goods in insurance information.

Receipts

For anything that you buy for your move and your new home, keep the receipts. Create a section in the binder that is just for these receipts. That way, if you need to return something that doesn’t work or fit, you will have the receipt and there will be no issues later on.

Inventory List

create or download a moving inventory list online and fill it out. This list should include each item in your home. It is a good idea to break the list down into categories, such as by room. That way, you have an idea of what goes in each room at the new house, but you will also have a record of all your things in case anything goes missing.

Schedules

There is going to be so much going on during your move that you could end up forgetting about any appointments yo may have. Make a section in your binder for your appointments, schedule, moving company schedules, etc.
