Speed cleaning
There is nothing worse than spending all day Sunday cleaning, so the Just Blue team have come up with a few ways to help stream line your cleaning and speed up the process.
Cleaning caddy
Keeping everything you need for cleaning in one handy place will make the job a lot easier, just bring it from room to room. This way you wont have to spend heaps of time trying to find all the products. If you have a large home consider making 2 or more of these little caddy’s so you can have one on each level.
Ditch the broom
Don’t even bother with a broom, they take too long and don’t always get all the dust. Vacuums are great, they are quick and easy and you can use them on every surface.
Extend your reach
Invest in a super long extension cord, this way you will be able to vacuum every room in one go, rather than running around changing power points!
Skip the little things
It’s OK to skip over the porcelain plate collection or the kids trophies. Giving them a good dusting once a month is fine and is a sure way to speed up the cleaning process.
Stick to a system
By making a cleaning plan and sticking to it will make cleaning go by in a flash and it will become second nature. This way you wont have to spend time back tracking on things you may have missed.
De clutter
We talk about de cluttering often here on our blog, but if you have minimal clutter the cleaning process will go much faster. If every member of the family has a little basket or tote to keep small personal items like wallets, keys, sunglasses and like items it will keep the house clutter free,
Stash supplies
To save time on cleaning day, stash a few supplies in each room so you can clean as you go.
Shower squeegeeÂ
Keep a squeegee in the shower so you can give it a once over after every use, and you will never find yourself spending hours cleaning mold from the shower.
Focus
If you truly want to speed clean, put that phone away and switch the TV off, if you have nothing to distract you it will get done in half the time.
Get help
Cleaning shouldn’t be one persons responsibility, so enlist the help of your kids and partner. Everyone makes mess so everyone should help clean it up!
