Stainless steel

There is nothing worse than sticky finger prints on your fridge or kettle that just won’t budge. Sometimes stainless steel cleaners don’t work on all appliances, so we have compiled a few of our favourite quick and easy methods to get your stainless steel sparkling!

THESE ARE MY FAVOURITES:

1- water (applied to the cloth) + microfibre polishing cloth

2- white vinegar (applied to the cloth) + microfibre polishing cloth

3-  Stainless Steel Cleaner (sprayed on stainless steel) + microfibre polishing cloth

OTHER METHODS TO TRY:

club soda – spray on stainless and wipe in the direction of the grain

olive or baby oil – apply to a dry cloth and buff in the direction of the grain

window cleaner – I suggest using a non-ammonia window cleaner

APPLICATION PROCESS:

Apply water or cleaner to a microfibre cloth and clean quickly. Buff away any residue. Try not to let the product dry on the stainless before buffing it in, otherwise you will get a stain or smear left over.  I recommend that you use a microfibre cloth that is designed to be used on stainless steel.

When applying cleaner you need to wipe in the direction of the grain of the stainless steel. Dirt can get trapped in the grain of the stainless steel, this method not only cleans better, but your stainless steel will appear much cleaner this way.
