Dry clean at home

There is nothing worse than buying a beautiful  new shirt or dress, then get it home to read it is dry clean only. Don’t worry now you can bring those beautiful items home with out having to worry about the dreaded dry cleaners.

Cashmere

Your beautiful cashmere sweaters can easily be hand washed with warm water and a soft detergent. Hand wash in warm water, then rinse in cold water until the item is detergent free. Place a dry towel onto a counter and lay the cashmere item flat to air dry. Try to Avoid wringing, rolling and hanging which will stretch the material.

Wool

Treat your wool items just like you would your cashmere items. Wool clothing can be hand washed or machine washed on a gentle cycle with cold water. Lay flat to dry and avoid hanging or wringing.

Leather

To clean your leather  jackets or pants, simply wipe items down with a damp cloth. Avoid being too rough while cleaning, which may damage the surface.

Silk

Sometimes silk can be very hard to colour fast, so you may get some fading while hand washing. Wash using a mild and natural soap, such Dr. Bronner’s Baby Soap or Castile soap in room temperature water. Let the item soak for a few minutes and lightly mix with hands. Rinse with clean water and dry on a padded hanger. Be sure to AVOID any product with hard chemicals, bleach and brighteners.
